Proposed Amendment to Municipal Heritage Inventory


Purusant to Clause 3(i) of the Town’s Policy relating to Heritage Management - Adding/Deleting/Amending Places on the Town’s Municipal Heritage Inventory (MHI) the following places are being advertised for proposed inclusion onto the MHI.



  • The former maternity hospital at No. 590 (Lots 12 and 118) Newcastle Street, West Perth

  • The pair of Olive Trees at the southwest corner of No. 1 (Lot 34) The Avenue, Leederville.

A copy of the draft Heritage Assessment for the former maternity hospital can be found here and a copy of the draft Heritage Assessment for the Olive Trees can be found here.


Submissions close for comments on the proposed heritage listing on Tuesday 2 December and Tuesday 23 December 2008 respectively.

Heritage Talks 2008


The Town of Vincent is hosting a series of free Heritage Talks in the coming months. The talks promise to be both informative and practical, providing the opportunity for discussion on a variety of heritage related topics. The talks will be held on Thursday evenings at the Town’s Library and Local History Centre at No. 99 Loftus Street (corner Vincent Street), Leederville from 6 - 7pm on Thursday evenings.


The talks will comprise a presentation by the guest speakers, group discussion and light refreshments. The topics organised thus far are as follows:



  • Researching the History of your Home

  • Historic Garden Design

  • Sense of Place - Heritage, the Vital Ingredient

  • Renovating and Conserving your Home

The last talk is being held on Thursday 20th November in the Town of Vincent Library and Local History Centre from 6pm to 7pm. The presenter will be local architect James Vincent who will providing practical advice on renovating and conserving older style buildings. For more information click here.
